Research Scientist

part-time (50%)

The department of training and movement science is looking for a research assistant in the “MEDIET4ALL” project, selected and supported by the PRIMA European program. This project involves ten partners from eight countries, and you will specifically join the Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU) Team coordinating this project.

Building on the multidisciplinary (e.g., science, technology, and humanities) expertise of the MEDIET4ALL consortium, the present joint project aims to support the transition from an unhealthy lifestyle (e.g., sedentary, ultra-processed food, etc.) to a modern and sustainable MEDLifestyle through the joint implementation of best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the convenience, modernity, competitiveness, and shelf life of MEDIET and the adherence to its healthy lifestyle in modern societies.

YOUR TASKS:

Participate in the collaborative research activities consisting of

implementing a multicenter survey-based study to understand the MED consumer's behavior, and identify the MEDIET determinants

designing tailored healthy MEDlifestyle programs including recently recommended physical activity (PA), MEDIET, and social and mental activities 

testing the acceptability and efficacy of these programs through interventional case-studies.  Additionally, you will also participate in the development and implementation of (digital)educational toolkits, awareness campaigns and promotional and innovative materials (e.g., collaborative games, integrative platform, smart m-coach)

YOUR PROFILE:

In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.

A successfully completed scientific university degree (master) in the field of sports science, sport nutrition, or related subjects.

Experience in manipulating various diagnostic and measuring methods as well as data analysis software

Coaching experience (e.g. personal trainer) is desirable.

Experience in conducting multidisciplinary research studies is desirable.

Previous and/or current international collaboration (in research and/or development) is desirable.

Very good working knowledge of English with good communication and teamwork skills

Ideally, desire to complete a doctorate.
